Fighting for Essential Hospital Services
HLA has represented community coalitions in areas where hospitals are closing, downsizing, merging or selling to for-profits. Giving the community a voice during hospital restructuring is critical to maintaining essential services and benefits for the underserved. Some of the coalitions HLA has represented are the Lynn Health Task Force, the Metro West Community Health Coalition, the Local 5 Health Care Coalition, the Northern Health Care Coalition based in Fitchburg, and the Coalition to Save Waltham Hospital. HLA remains committed to assisting all Massachusetts communities to preserve and enhance essential hospital services.
