About the Legal Network

Health Law Advocates’ Pro Bono Legal Network consists of over 115 attorneys in private practice who accept case referrals from HLA.  Pro Bono Legal Network attorneys practice in a variety of settings including large international law firms, medium-sized law firms, solo practices, non-profits and corporate legal departments.

Case referrals handled by Pro Bono Legal Network attorneys involve the same types of issues handled by HLA’s staff attorneys.  Legal Network attorneys routinely provide services that are literally life-sustaining to vulnerable clients and that help clients avoid financial catastrophes.

HLA strives to maximize the satisfaction of both clients and volunteer attorneys in its management of the Pro Bono Legal Network. HLA's Manager of External Engagement, Jennifer Javier, communicates regularly with Legal Network attorneys handling pro bono referrals to provide technical support, advise on legal strategy, and ensure clients are receiving the representation they need.

Pro Bono Legal Network members receive an email newsletter from HLA on the first and third Monday of each month.  The newsletter lists brief descriptions of cases available for referral.  We also include news about the Legal Network including client success stories, invitations to legal trainings and recognitions of Legal Network members.
